We need further details to offer furhter help. What, exactly, is causing you problems? Their troops, their magic, summoned demons, assassins or some combination of the above? How far has the game progressed? What magic and what gems do you have access to? Do you have a blessing, and have you summoned any of your better sacred troops (Gandharvas at Conj 5 come with two attacks and a whopping 18 protection, as well as Awe and the generally superhuman stats of the Yakshas)? Do you have enough time to look for magic sites, or are you pressed to figure out a way to stop his assault?
Rain and Fire Ward will help against his magic, but they'll also help against his troops' heat aura. Wolven Winter cast at his rich provinces will screw his economy.
