Well they did make a movie about it, and it was quite good.

Batman Begins was the title came out only a few years ago

I just watched an episode of TOS the one where they goto the plnaet where everything they think of happens. It was made quite clear the Bones and Kirk did not attend the academy together, 100% without a doubt.

I know; I saw the movie. It messed with continueity too much for me to appreciate it as a mainline Batman movie. I view it as a new Batman canon.
