Re: Name That Magic Site
It could be the items that you're using with hidden markers, or other even stranger mechanics. I got horror marked on my Lich one time where I think it might have actually been from casting Send Horror.

Re: Name That Magic Site
Sites that give out horror marks are listed in the DB. They are usually blood sites, though some astral sites do that too. Some items do it as well, e.g. lightless lantern and several artifcats.

Re: Name That Magic Site
I got Inkpot End in a game as LA R'yleh. I've been funneling all the free chaff from areas that I don't need it in to there. It's helping keep upkeep costs down.
What site could be increasing my death scale?
I've already searched water, earth, astral, and death.

Re: Name That Magic Site
Fire is one option. Desert of Bones increases Death. So does Dying Forest (Nature).

Re: Name That Magic Site
Another question about magic sites : I've found 2 sites in a solo game, one with "Enchantment bonus : 20" and another with "Evocation bonus : 20".
How does this bonus work ????

Re: Name That Magic Site
Easy, all evocation and enchantment rituals will cost you 20% less gems. So a 20 gem enchantment ritual will cost you 16 gems on a enchantment bonus: 20 site. You must of course cast the ritual with a mage that is located in the province with the site.

Re: Name That Magic Site
Actually the price doesn't change in the list, but when you "confirm" the spell, only 16 gems are deducted instead of 20 (in case of 20 gem cost and 20% bonus). That make it looks like it's not working in my opinion... but it really does.

Re: Name That Magic Site
Very cool. If you find one in MP be sure to use it when casting those gem heavy global spells.

Re: Name That Magic Site
It's actually not so useful for globals. The discount doesn't count for any extra gems put in to resist dispelling.
