Re: DoGA-L1 + ???
Because of background. Render in parts assembler has only one silly blue background. In "create motion" you can make it pure black or make it rather fancy (check out weapon platforms in my Pequeninos shipset). It also makes easy to create fleet pictures, by importing several objects and arrange them in formations.

Re: DoGA-L1 + ???
Ekaj, I prefer to use "print screen" and then paste the image into Photoshop (you can use other programs of course). Direct save of render picture produce poor quality picture, IMO.
BTW, bmp format is ideal - all SE IV graphic is in bmp format !
Edit: I was wrong, direct save produces exactly same resolution as prt.scr. Still, most(all?) editors can read bmp files.

Re: DoGA-L1 + ???
I don't know but I never seemed to like Doga all that much. I would get frustrated after putting together one fine ship for a fleet - but then not being able to create a nice lineage for the subsequent ships.
I like using Moray and making my own imagemaps for the textures and stuff, the only problem is that it takes long and I never seem to finish anything! But that's just me in general.

I don't understand. There is nothing to prevent DoGa assembled ship to be used as a seed for bigger or more complicated ship. It is in fact how all (well, not all, but most) DoGa shipset are made ! In fact it so so easy that I do my best not to abuse the "upgrade" feature and am trying to design every new ship from scratch !!

Re: DoGA-L1 + ???
I guess it boils down to I don't like most of the parts that come with Doga. I'm not really into the whole anime battleship kind of thing. I like saucers and nascelles a la star trek. I know Doga is easy which is good for a lot of people, but since I have a little artistic ability...I guess I rather express that.

Re: DoGA-L1 + ???
I changed the resoultion when i render to 640 X 480 it gives me a little better picture. Wish I had more time to make it from scratch like you.
