As an FYI, Ethereal Crossbows work surprisingly badly as anti-thug weapons for the simple reason that they're shield blockable. Piercers are a far better option because they are neither MR-resist nor shieldblock-able.

My tests with MA Arcocephale Mind Hunt spam* suggests that it does, and I think I've seen this confirmed on the site.

*Which sounds like a terrible idea, until you realize that Arcocephale has incredible healers, and can thus pull this off.
