Re: Game freezes
So far it occurs on my Vista machine, but not the windows 7 computer. There are no other programs open, outside of all the windows features and other programs that seem to run in the background. The only new software is a Firefox upgrade from a few weeks ago, plus the Microsoft, Adobe, and MacAfee daily or weekly upgrades. Doesn't seem to matter how long the computer has been running, or even if I have anything open in another window. Since this seems to be my very own problem, I will reload everything and not assume it is from a bad Microsoft patch.
Or get a new computer

Vista is the "Windows ME" of the early 2000s. I'd describe it as the "bad Microsoft patch" in question ... !
The best way to patch vista IMHO, is to apply a Windows 7 upgrade to it. It is the fixed version of Vista, after all. And probably cheaper than a new PC.
Cheers

Re: Game freezes
Come on, that's way way too subjective. Vista is fine and people who complain about it never used it for more than a trial. Or something.
I use Vista 64 Home pre for 3 years now. In fact it is the same very first installation. I have zero issues with Vista apart from not playing 16bit older games. Other than that, zero issues, including with other games. And I do play A LOT, many other games, both new and old.
Is it possible there is some crazy incompatibility between winSPMBT and Vista? Sure it is possible, but to blame Vista and even say it is like Windows ME, which is like calling it a whore, it's uncalled for!

It's not a game killer or anything. It only happens when I play the game windowed. Although lately it is most of the time (windowed). It happens no matter if I have other software running or not, or time it Windows is running. I don't worry about it.
