Limit for ship damage resistance?

This is a perfect example for MM to look at. Send in your mod files and your savegame with an explanation of the problem. He can look at it with the debugger and see what's really going wrong.

Just tried a little game with a ship with over 66000 damage resistance and it worked ok.

Thank you for your answers. Your are right that the problem is not the total damage resistance of the ship. It seems that the error occurs if the attacked death star ship has wave motion guns. I have no idea how that can cause the error and sent the files to MM. Hope he finds the cause and can fix it.

I have to give up to find the error myself. It is not the wave motion gun and the error occurs not with 100% reproducability. It seems (!!!) to be connected to the order the components are destroyed and occurs more frequently if components with high damage resistance are present. But this is just my impression and not sure at all.

Whatever has caused the RCE according to the quick reply from MM the next patch should fix it! And more good news: this next patch should be released next week
