On point(3)since you say you like playing as the germans and they were notorious for tweaking the panzers alot.

I'd buy the best available for the time you start, train them and resist upgrading when a newer version of the same thing comes up,as you will lose some experience.

Save upgrading for say a PZIII to a PZIVG which has the longer barrel for example
