Re: APC Development and related topics.
It's about time that FINALLY we've got an update I just found for AJAX/ARIES APC as it's been a while since I last posted a couple from MOD/Parliament last year.
Unfortunately, it fully supports what I already have posted from the MOD/Parliament websites. But this not a bad thing as it shows the project is on track and there is a uniformed message from MOD/Parliament and GDLS UK.
From the ref. which is quoting from MOD and Industry...
" GDLS UK and the British Army plan to achieve IOC in the second half of 2025, with the first Ajax squadron ready to be deployed and capable of sustaining operations for up to six months. Following this, the next steps will include integrating Ajax into the Armoured Cavalry Battle Group, then into the Recce Strike Brigade Combat Team by 2026-27. Full Operational Capability (FOC) is expected to be achieved between October 2028 and September 2029, marking the completion of training and conversion of all units to the Ajax platform."
AJAX/APR 2029/MAYBE//
I would expect ARIES sooner by a year or two as my best guess.
If the AJAX FOC holds, the CVR (T) and to give us a " cushion" should have... CVR (T)/END/DEC 2029/ALL UNITS. //
The " message" has been consistent now for about 2 years concerning the dates. After the "noise" issue and as I found and posted why the UK was, I'm sorry to say so " STUPID" to modify their main gun is beyond comprehension.
I'm sure in a backroom somewhere the French are having a "good laugh" as their JAGUAR got fielded the end of last Fall I believe it was.
The French built the JAGUAR "around" their gun however, the UK basically did the opposite. But history back to WWII has shown they weren't the first and won't be the last to make that mistake.

Time for the annual Navy wide game of "How good is your Security?"
I better get some sleep!

Pat

Re: APC Development and related topics.
Well, we're still waiting for the ACV to go into full rate production and " DOGE" will be visiting the DOD very soon.
That being said KONGSBERG just signed the contract at the end of NOV. 2024 that will allow them to start building MCT-30 turrets to start soon so they'll have enough in stock for the ACV when the production starts for that configuration.
These might help if used in conjunction.

That was over an hour NOT well spent. Pictures were JPEG and the right size couple would open (In post.) added another save and nothing would open in the post. Stopped when I was approaching the axiom "...expecting different result" Things aren't working like they used to.
Hope it helps. And no not even checking after I've saved this.

Pat

Re: APC Development and related topics.
It's better than I found. What I needed was to see if there were obvious access hatches on the roof and where they were and if I added them would anyone notice

Re: APC Development and related topics.
Not a problem. I have as in the NEMO movie have a site that the Seagulls would refer to as Its - " MINE, MINE MINE" well they are afterall Seagulls and it's what they do.
I'll give it a check if I find it you'll recognize from the past. It's another tool in my box I sometimes use when I'm thinking "too hard" on the numbers, an "arbitrator" if you will.

Pat

Re: APC Development and related topics.
blueprint.com appears to be dead concerning my last post. That's too bad as they had a " robust" selection of military blueprints.
The Polish government has at 1100 27 March 2025 signed the " EXECUTION" part of the contract after years of delays.
The importance of that is now/soon they can start serial production of the BORSUK IFV.
There also a bit of force structure info in this ref. as well.

Re: APC Development and related topics.
Pat
There are some here, but it does not appear to be as extensive a collection as found in the past
https://drawingdatabase.com/category/vehicles/military/
That site does not have a Borsuk but one can be found
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Borsuk...suk_3-view.svg
And that blueprint is "good enough" to produce a viable game Icon from......but I already have one "good enough"

It should with 27 years experience BUT that was done before all of the annoying nasty slip / fall / concussion stuff occurred and I have not yet attempted a new Icon from scratch so I have NO IDEA how a new one would go
It is MAYBE a bit too wide but at that scale one pixel can change too wide to too narrow and also that is at 200% so twice the size it will be in the game
EDIT: It is "close enough"
The width to scale works out to 22 pixels, which is what it should be
Actual Width: 3.4 meters (11 ft 2 in) ( 22 pixels )
The length is "good enough" as well but its 50 pixels
and should be 49
Actual Length: 7.6 meters (24 ft 11 in) = (49 pixels) but that may be because I used dimensions from a different source
But save any cheering for a new one
