Well, I'm not a huge fan of vanilla myself, but that is because Agatha is really handicapped, and I dislike gen generators, but I'm going to stick this game out till someone crushes me.

I will not give an opinion on how strong Agartha is as I do not know the newer nations as well as the classic ones, but you did get to choose at the start.

IMO, the deciding factors in this game have been, to date, the agressiveness/willingness to win (or lack of) of the players, diplomacy & battlefield prowess, in that order.

Gem generators have not given TC his current lead, the above factors did.

One of the most effective ways to play Agartha is a bloodstones strat in vanilla... you don't need to, and probably shouldn't, go full blood, just enough to forge one bloodstone a turn.

Yeah, that was one of the most clueless complaints I've ever seen; espescially since CBM makes controlling the gemgen globals even more important.
